Community Guidelines
Reel Chemistry is a private community for creatives in film, TV, streaming, commercial, music-video, animation, and adjacent industries. To keep it safe and worth showing up for, everyone agrees to these rules. Break them and we will remove content, suspend, or permanently ban your account — with no refund.
1. Be a real person, be yourself
- Use your real first name (or the professional name you're known by on set) and recent photos of yourself.
- One account per person. No impersonation of other people, brands, or productions.
- Must be 18 or older. No exceptions.
2. Consent and respect
- No unsolicited sexual messages, images, or videos. Ever. Ask first.
- "No" means no. If someone unmatches, blocks, or asks you to stop, stop.
- No harassment, stalking, doxxing, or sustained unwanted contact.
- No hate speech, slurs, or attacks based on race, religion, gender, orientation, ability, age, or nationality.
3. Nothing illegal, dangerous, or exploitative
- No content depicting or promoting violence, abuse, self-harm, terrorism, or trafficking.
- No sexual content involving minors. Reports of CSAM are forwarded to NCMEC and law enforcement immediately.
- No drug sales, weapons sales, or promotion of illegal services.
- No solicitation of sex work, escort services, or "pay-per-meet" arrangements.
4. No scams, spam, or fake profiles
- No romance scams, wire-transfer requests, crypto pitches, or investment schemes.
- No linking members off-platform in your first messages for the purpose of scamming.
- No fake casting calls, fake "manager" or "agent" pitches, or promises of representation in exchange for money, personal favors, or explicit content.
- No mass-messaging identical text to many users. This is not a mailing list.
5. Photos & content
- Photos must clearly show you and your face, and be recent (within roughly 2 years).
- No nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos.
- No photos of children, weapons, drugs, gore, or copyrighted material you do not own the rights to.
- No embedded contact info, phone numbers, other-app handles, or QR codes in your profile photos.
6. Professional conduct — on-set language
Reel Chemistry uses film-crew terminology — Agency, Call Sheet, Rehearsal, Call to Set. That's fun and thematic, but it does not imply an offer of actual work, casting, or professional representation. Never use the language of the app to lure someone into a real-world "audition" or "shoot" for personal purposes. This is grounds for immediate ban and law-enforcement referral.
7. Safety off the app
- Meet first in public. Tell a friend where you'll be.
- Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you have not met in person.
- Verify anyone claiming to be a producer, director, casting director, or agent through independent sources (IMDb Pro, guild rosters, verified company email) before sharing personal information or attending private meetings.
- Trust your instincts. If it feels off, leave — and please report.
8. Reporting and enforcement
You can report a profile from their profile page and a specific message from inside a chat (long-press or tap the report icon). You can also email trust@reelchemistry.app with details. All reports are reviewed by a human moderator. When we act, we may:
- Remove the offending content or photo.
- Warn or shadow-limit the account.
- Suspend the account temporarily.
- Permanently ban the account and the underlying device / email — no refund.
- Refer the matter to law enforcement or NCMEC when applicable.
We do not tolerate retaliation against people who report in good faith.
9. Blocking
You can block anyone at any time. Blocking hides their profile from you, hides your profile from them, prevents new messages, and unmatches you if applicable. Blocks are permanent unless you remove them from your block list.
10. Appeals
If your account is suspended or removed and you believe it was in error, email trust@reelchemistry.app from the email on the account. We review every appeal within 14 days. Bans for CSAM, threats of violence, and doxxing are not appealable.
